You can never understand Han Chinese attitudes/behaviors if you don't know they are in the relationship between the superior and the inferior all the time. Han Chinese are the victims of themselves and make others the victims of them.

If you are Han Chinese, the above is just another example of the Han Chinese. And you didn't hesitate to show how evil you were. (You actually didn't know yourself at all.)
If you are not Han Chinese, you just don't know where you are after learning the Han Chinese lie-story (instead of hi-story).

1. The era was the "ming" dynasty not han. why don't you look at this way as well: if he stayed loyal he could of simply retired away, he is an able general if he stayed loyal and alive he could of increase the chances of southern ming to resist the qings(manchus). Or if not, he had enough military power to do enough damage to the qings therefore qings would have trouble facing against li zicheng and getting past Shanhai Pass. Or a third option is to ally li zicheng and support him to resist the qings so giving ming a chnace of equal strength instead of giving all to qing. however he simply gave up,betrayed his loyalty and his country and allowed the qing to easily defeat li zicheng to gain absolute power. so then ming is by themself facing the qings. If youya sk why he choose the qing, its because its the better side in military and power.
2. lol li zicheng IS a traitor and a very stupid one. the reason for his success is because of the diversion of qings.
3. thats his personality from the start he is simply a theif/bandit/rebel, you wouldn't expect any modesty or nobleness in him in nature. however during his expedition he did treat places he conquer kindly to win favour. but since he got the capital he thought of himself too mighty and his arrogance took him.
4. which part of ming dynasty your talking about? if its during when ming still had power then i can say ming was completely corrupted. heck it was corrupted way before rebellions and invasions took place. its not the matter of saying "lets unite," then they all unite. when emperor Chongzhen took the throne he was helpless. his corrupted ministers push the loyalist out of the court. and with help of eunuchs they tried to make Chongzhen devoted to leisure. Fortunately Chongzhen wasn't all dense he did try to reform his country many times but failed. oh by the way honour is always part of the historical-chinese culture and that doesn't link to uniting the country. yes, if all ming had their honours then the country is united but cmon. such a large country you expect everyone to be a goody goody? then they all can be called jesus. lol
5. well what i previously said was the reason but there are more reason leading to the decline of Ming which are from the previous emperors of ming.
Corrupted Ministers and global economic crisis = deadly combination, people couldn't afford taxes they pay silver for tax while crops or copper for living. before the crisis a string of copper=1ounce of silver and when crisis took its place it was worth a third. oh to add more to the diaster it was known that N.China suffered from famine which was also known "little ice age" crops couldn't grow etc.
lol the law you mention. it isn't a law but by nature of the imperial system. higher officials obviously has greater power, whats benefit of power? advantages!. whether to humiliate their underlings is up the individual(not a law). Also this nature doesn't apply to all. fi your talking about conflicts of countries/states. weaker states also humiliates the superior and vice versa as for one reason "enemies". and your third party theory yes its msotly true but they don't always succeed. if everyone was so noble then the whole world would be in peace. offensive abuse= bad person, by saying its a law your saying the whole of historical chinese were bad. therefore what im saying your only one sided and only looking into what a bad person would do.
